Joan VanDyk Obituary

VENICE, Fla. -- Joan T. Van Dyk, 76, of Venice, Fla., formerly of West Milford, N.J., died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Paterson, Joan was the daughter of the late Tice and Helen Heerschap. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Van Dyk, in 1997.

Joan is survived by her children, Donald Van Dyk and his wife, Pam, of Highland Lakes, Gary Van Dyk and his wife, Colleen, of Hamburg, Douglas Van Dyk and his wife, AnnMarie, of Bloomingdale, and Kelly Van Dyk Gagliano and her husband, Chris Gagliano, of Venice, Fla. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Melissa Van Dyk, of Lancaster, Pa., Morgan Van Dyk, of Bloomingdale, and Antoinette Gagliano, of Venice, Fla., and many friends and family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice.

Dear Gary and Family,
Bob and I are so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. My mom passed 1 yr ago on Aug 3rd. Cancer is such a terrible thing and it took her from us way too early. We wish you peace in knowing she is with your Dad and is at peace now. With our condolences. Much love,
