We have many fond memories of Mitchell, so lovingly called "Gito" by my three nephews. He was famous in the Tracy family for his daily trips to the grocery store when he was visiting in Evergreen. Also him saying the boys were the fairest Syrians he knew!
Wishing you God's comfort in many wonderful memories with a special husband, Dad and Grandpa.
Our love and prayers, Linda, Mike, Maddie and Lydia

Condolences to Liz and the extended Hayek family.
"Hey, Mitch, a ham salad on wheat, extra mayo, lettuce. I'll be by to pick it up on my last taxi run." Thanks for the happy face and wonderful job you did while you were here! You will be missed by many.

May God be with the Hayek Family, through their sorrow. I grew up knowing the Hayeks and can remember as a child my Mom taking me there for ice cream and candy. Also how generous they all were.
there is not another store in this world like they had. Or the friendliness that was there for everyone. God Bless .

Mitchell will surely be missed. He was a good man and we really enjoyed talking to him at Hayek's market. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Hayek Family on this loss. Mr. Hayek was not only a friend to my parents, but a very special part of my memories. Always a smile from behind the counter, a slice of cheese, a kind word. When I think of home and the great things about living in a smaller town, Hayek's Market is always part of my thoughts. What a wonderful legacy Dan is continuing..

It was with great sadness that I read the notice, my deepest condolences. I always looked forward to seeing Mitch in the store, as well as the hospital. His volunteer work there touched as many lives as he did in the store.
