Robert Steeger Obituary

VERNON -- Robert H. Steeger, 65, died peacefully with dignity on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010. Bob was a great friend to all, a proud Marine, and a skilled mechanic.

Son of the late William T. and Marie B. Steeger, Bob was a graduate of Lyndhurst High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam from 1963 to 1966. He resided in the Highland Lakes area of Vernon for the past 29 years.

He leaves behind his wife, Stephanie Jansson, his family, and many friends.

Cremation will be private. Interment will follow at a later date at General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, with high military honors.

Friends are invited to stop by the house on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. to pay respects.Ê

Dear Uncle Bob,
i know i wasnt around toward the end but there was never a day that went bye that i didnt think aboout you. When i was growing up i remmember the times aunt stephanie wuld take me to edart and you would let me blow the air horn on the trucks. I loved spending a month with you every summer. I love you and aunt stephanie so much and i hope that the family now is able to come closer.

aunt stephanie,
im so sorry for your loss. unlce bob was an awesome guy, and i wish i could have been around more to spend more time with him before he passed, and im sorry for that. i love you and i miss you being a big part of my life, and i hope this can bring us closer together again. i love you aunt stephanie, and unlce bob will truly be miss.

To a wonderful giving human being, with great love and gratituded we will surely miss Bob, he was the most selfess, giving ,fun loving person you would ever meet.
