Daniel Grzybek Obituary
Dan served as a correctional officer at Wasco State Prison for 21 years alongside his best friend Greg Hensley.
Dan was an avid Nascar fan, he enjoyed watching football and spending time with his family and friends. Dan could be found on any day after work, washing his truck, caring for his yard and passing out his million dollar smile and a friendly wave to his neighbors.
Dan served in the United States Air Force for four years from 1987 to 1991.
Dan is survived by his mother Carol and her husband Harry Provolt of Simi Valley brothers, Andrew Grzybek of Escondido, Patrick Grzybek of Porterville , sister Judy Grzybek Olex of Simi Valley; daughter, Shelby Grzybek of Porterville, son, Kristopher Grzybek of Porterville; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Joe Grzybek, cousin Jerilyn Bigler, cousin Adam Gauthier, uncle Louis Gauthier, grandparents Louis and Flore Gauthier, .
Funeral service will be held at 1163 West Linda Vista Avenue Porterville, CA on Saturday September 15th, 2012 at 1:00 pm., with youth pastor Matt Gifford of New Hope Church officiating. Whitehurst Lloyd are handling the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Walk With Me, Family Services, 560 West Putnam Suite #4, Porterville, CA 93257. The family of Dan Grzybek wishes to thank Pastor Matt, Jo Webb, Porterville Police Department and Chaplin, and New Hope Church for their assistance and support. I will always remember Dan as being that quiet guy with a great sense humor. When I knew I was going to be working with him I knew it was going to be a good day with some great laughs. I will miss seeing him around and my deepest sympathy and prayers go out to his family. I will miss you my friend "Big Grz"

Dan and myself attended the CDC Correctional Officer Academy together in Galt, California from December 1990 to February 1991. We worked together at Wasco State Prison from February 1991 until I retired from CDCR in April 2011. I remember Dan as always having a smile on his face and always being in an upbeat mood. I always looked forward to talking with him when I would see him. I also remember Dan as being a big Los Angeles and St. Louis Rams football fan and many times I talked to him about the Rams. My condolences go out to the Grzybek family and I know he will surely be missed.

Dan was such a wonderful loving caring person to all who knew him. Always a smile from ear to ear. May God give you strength in the days ahead and know that Dan is in a better place smiling down on us.
