Earl Jennings

Cold Spring - Earl W. Jennings, 97, of Cold Spring, passed away on Friday, December 11th at Cold Spring Transitional Care Center. Earl joined the Navy following the attack on Pearl Harbor and would go on to serve for 20 years. Following his military service, Earl worked as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA for another 17 years before retiring. He stayed very active as a member of the VFW, Fleet Reserve Association (US Navy) and Retired Air Traffic Controllers. Earl had a great love of the Lord and lived a deep spiritual life. In addition, Earl was active in the Family For Life Committee, he was in charge of Liturgy at the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood, a member of the Cursillo Community and Our Lady's Farm in Falmouth. He served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Luke Hospital East for 30 years. Earl was also a daily altar server at morning mass. Earl and Alice traveled on Pilgrimages to Rome, Europe, the Holy Land and several Marian Shrines. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann Jennings; brothers, Robert & Walter Jennings and cousin, Brother Bernard Jennings O.F.M. Earl is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Alice (nee. Daniel) Jennings; sister, Audrey Sadler & Jewel Alexander; cousin, Mary Hegarty and many nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 19th at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cold Spring. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are required.
