Linda McCoy Gifford

Dayton, Kentucky - Linda McCoy-Gifford, age 69 of Dayton Kentucky left this earth to join her heavenly family on March 29th, 2018. Linda was proceeded in death by her father & mother Winfield and Margaret McCoy, brothers Jerry Greason, Larry LaCally and Mike McCoy. Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years Jerry Gifford, their Daughter Tabitha (Jason) Gifford-Schmits, grandchildren Ethan, Hunter, Sid, Kendall, Courtney, great grandson Brently, Son, Brandon Gifford, grandson Harvest (Kimberly), great granddaughter Luna Mae, Son, Nathan (Tiffany) Gifford, granddaughter's Madison and Kenzie, brother Dave (Linda and family) Becker, Linda is also survived by nieces, nephews and sister- in- laws and many extended family members and friends. Linda was very active in her community. She was a member of St. Bernard Church in Dayton Kentucky where she attended elementary school and was a high school graduate of Dayton High School. Linda touched many lives. She was a mentor and coach to many youth growing up in Dayton. Linda was a cheerleading coach, girls' softball coach, a member of the civic league and implemented "Light up Dayton". She was president of the Park Board and involved in many other volunteer activities.

Linda had a very funny sense of humor, she loved to laugh, and was an amazing wife, mother and friend to all. Linda loved to fish, plant in her garden, boating on the river, crafts, spending time enjoying the peace and serenity of her river camp on the Ohio River. Linda's favorite times were being surrounded by her family and friends. A Prayer and Blessing Service will be held at Saturday April 7th, 11:00 am at St. Bernard Church, Dayton, Kentucky followed by a Celebration of Life Reception from Noon to 2pm in Garvey Hall at the church. jerry so sorry to hear about linda. can't really believe it. hope all are doing ok. Patrick greeson and I, Janice his mother, wish we knew, would have been there. you have our deepest sympathy. god bless

My favorite memory of Linda was watching her play softball and other sports at DHS...her smile, laughter, and enthusiasm continued with her throughout life, and I have no doubt she passed it to all she knew. May God grant you peace and comfort...you have my deepest sympathy.
