Mildred Virginia Hudson Cosby, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday night, June 15, 2016, in the Wesley Manor Retirement Center. She was 84. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 18, 2016, in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel, 1468 Hartford Highway, Dothan, with Reverend Tim Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Glover Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36301. Mrs. Cosby was born and reared in Coffee County, near Elba, Alabama, daughter of the late Lotus Giles Hudson and Lois Bowers Hudson. She was a graduate of Elba High School. Mrs. Cosby lived in Dothan most of her adult lifetime where she was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church, the D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was retired from Sears as a Sales Clerk after twenty-seven years employment. Mrs. Cosby was preceded in death by a former husband, Porter Mixon Summersett, a daughter, Diane Bryan Batchelor, and a brother, Leroy Hudson. Surviving relatives include her husband, Woodrow Franklin (Frank) Cosby; a daughter, Lynn Robinson (David), Austin, TX; a son, Bobby Bryan (Dixie), Montgomery; three stepsons, Ronald Cosby (Lynn), Dothan, Danny Cosby (Teresa), Columbia, and Dennis Cosby (Krystal), Dothan; a son-in-law, Walt Batchelor, Dothan; a sister, Trudie Bryan, Elba; a brother, Harold Hudson (Sheila), Elba; five grandchildren, Katie Johnston (Jeff), Jessica Seeley (Joe), Marissa Sutton, Miranda Borders (Austin), and Julia Batchelor; five step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and six step great-grandchildren.
