I remember Sister Ruth Ann vividly from my years as a student at St. Monica elementary school. It was precisely her love of the English language (grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.) that has led to my life long love of writing.
I also fondly remember her classroom races geared at teaching enthusiasm in the diagramming of sentences and using words to create poetry that reflected shapes...I think they were called concrete poems.
More than anything, however, I remember
Sr. Ruth Ann's love of her Catholic faith and her God. She was a kind, and loving individual.
To all of the Ursuline sisters (especially Sr. Mary Lawrence) I offer my sincere condolences.
I imagine Sister Ruth Ann is currently in the presence of the Lord, kneeling side-by-side
with Sr. Mary Alice, Sr. Veronica and all the sisters who committed their lives to educating generations of kids at St. Monica.
God Bless~
