Adam Roman Serigne

Adam Roman Serigne passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019. He was 93 years old. He was the loving brother of Virginia Steele (Henry, Jr.), Irene Melerine (Clarence), Gloria Stephenson (Jessie), O'Neil Serigne (Barbara), and the late Joseph Serigne (Ida) and Lionel Serigne (Joan). He was preceded in death by his parents, Louisa Morales Serigne and Joseph J. Serigne. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Adam was a native of St. Bernard Parish, and was born and raised on Delacroix Island. He was a commercial fisherman and was the proud founder of Serigne Boat Launch. Even after his retirement, he could frequently be found on the water, due to his love of fishing. He was much loved and will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to extend a heartfelt and sincere "thank you" to Interim Hospice, the staff of St. Bernard Parish Hospital, and to his sitters, Stacie, Brielle, Erica, Mary and Destiny, for their unwavering dedication and support during Adam's last days. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette, on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in his honor at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2805 BAYOU ROAD, in St. Bernard, at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
