Albert Moeller Obituary

Albert L. "Al" Moeller, a longtime resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed peacefully into eternal life on April 7, 2024, at the age of 102. Al is survived by his children, Dr. Laurie Moeller, Bryan Moeller (Lori), Allen Moeller (Melody), and Robert Moeller (Danielle); grandchildren, Kelsy Laurent (Ryan), Elise Moeller, Adam Moeller (Lauren), Isabel Moeller, and Andrew Moeller; great-granddaughter, Natalie Laurent; nephew, Albert Fagot Jr, who was like a son; many nieces and nephews; and his stepfamily, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Riedl Moeller; parents, William Moeller and Julie Reou Moeller; and siblings, William Moeller Jr., Lawrence Moeller, and Julie Moeller Bosworth. Al was a graduate of S.J. Peters High School, attended Tulane University and bravely served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Upon his return, he was hired by the Eugene Dietzgen Drafting Co., where he spent most of his career. He and his wife retired to Picayune, Mississippi, where they lived for 25 years. Al was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Irma R. Moeller, for 67 years. He was a devout Catholic and a man of deep faith who instilled the values of honesty, loyalty, and devotion to his children. Al was an avid fisherman throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed bowling, family camping trips, cooking, and his afternoon cocktail with his wife, Irma. His memory will live on through many generations. His family would like to thank his sitters, Summerfield (Slidell) staff and community, St. Luke's Outreach Ministry, and Passages Hospice for the care and support shown to him during the last years and days of his life. Family and friends are invited to attend services for Al and his wife, Irma at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 910 Crossgates Blvd., Slidell, LA, on Friday, May 24, 2024. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a funeral Mass immediately following. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans at a later date. I offer condolences to the Moeller Family! Mr. and Mrs. Moeller were our neighbors when my mother and I lived on Gabriel Dr. in New Orleans east. We enjoyed living next door to them, as they were great neighbors. I am so sorry to hear of their passings.
