My grandmother was the strongest person I ever met. She took life challenges head-on. Although she only went to the eighth grade, she read the newspaper every day. She voted in every election. She made all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren feel like they were her favorite. She was giving and as she would say "free-hearted". She once came home with a woman she met on the bus, explaining that the lady had six children and that she wanted to give her twenty dollars. They are not making them like my grandmother any more. She was a true boss lady. I will carry her legacy of grace, strength, kindness, and courage with me always. I hope I am at least half the woman this great woman was. --Delisa Williams

Grandma you were the best grandmother anybody could ever have. I was lucky to have you as my friend for fifty years. I will miss all the Mardi Gras', all the tea, all of hugs and kisses. So much of me is you so I know you are not far away. Rest easy grandma. You did great by all of us.

See you later Auntie Bert. You really let your light shine. I thank God for having a part of you in my life. Florence & Shirley be strong. Our chain isn't broken, God decided it was time to remove another link and place it in Glory. We are still connected, Jesus is with us to fill the gap. Love you both, and praying for the entire family. (Cousin Sharon)

When someone we love falls asleep in death the memories we have of them become our special treasure. May those cherished memories of a life well lived and God's promises at John 6:40 bring you a measure of comfort. My warmest condolences to the family.
