Alberta Carter Van

VAN Alberta Carter Van passed away on May 14, 2013 at the age of 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Frank Aubrey Van, Sr. Mother of Connie Van Brechtel (husband, Joseph Jr.), Fran Van Talbot (husband, George Jr.) and Frank Aubrey Van, Jr. (wife, Bridget). Grandmother of Scott Brechtel (wife, Molly), Tim Brechtel (wife, Dawn), Jason Talbot (wife Holly), Jeffrey Talbot and Christopher Van. Great-grandmother of Kendall, Kyle, Andrew and Kathleen Brechtel, Peyton and Landon Becnel and Abby Talbot. Sister of Lee Carter Barient (husband, the late James), Frank Carter (wife, the late Rita) the late Tommy Carter (wife, Mary) and Charlie A. Carter, Jr. (wife, the late Vera). Daughter of the late Frances Hughes Carter and Charles Albert Carter Sr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Alberta was a proud lifelong resident of Algiers and graduated from Martin Behrman High School. As a woman of faith, she was a devout member of Mt. Olivet Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild, taught Sunday School and later attended White Dove Fellowship Church. She read her Bible daily, lived a faith-based life and raised her family in belief of the Lord. While she is rejoicing in the Kingdom of Heaven, she will be sadly missed by those she leaves behind. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. Funeral Services will follow.
