It’s so crazy that you’ve been gone so long and I still can’t wrap my head around it. I was so little when u left this world and it worries me everyday that I’ll somehow forget you. Doubt our age difference you always let me stay by your side and I miss those days everyday. It’s so hard to wrap my head that I won’t see you at family events. Miss you so much Alexis. I didnt know you much personally, we had some classes together but I still remember you almost every day. You were so intelligent and pretty, straight As and always a smile on your face! You were a good person, too good for this earth. Right after I left destrehan was when you left, and even I couldn't believe it. Still to this day. I believe the best thing we were given as humans was life. We were given it to live and experience the world. To change hearts and minds and become important to someone's life. Alexis was important to many lives and touched many hearts. She was known for courage and not being afraid to speak her mind. Brave she was but I also think the people who loved her were brave as well. To love is to be hurt. So just remember you were all very brave souls for loving her as much as you do.

you know, Alexis, it's been six months since you've passed. i still see you a lot in my dreams. and every now and then i get reminded of you from the smallest bit of things. i never thought you'd impact me this much. there has been deaths left and right in the area. Still, i just can't believe you were one of them. i remember when we were younger, we would talk about stuff like this. like what would happen, and who would actually care. you told me you would care, and i told you i'd care. we promised each other; that we would make it out alive no matter how hard things were. even now, i just feel so helpless. like, as if there was something i could've done. i just wish i could understand at least. i need you, man. this isn't healthy. when you're my age you're not supposed to lose your best friend. you're not ever supposed to lose them. but even so; i know i have to be strong. but, sometimes i feel so weak and uncapable of doing even that. theres so much i have left to say, so much to be done still, so much i just refuse to let the feeling pass. i love you, more than i've ever been able to fully love another person, and you're always in my thoughts, beautiful. rest in peace my angel.

I don't think we ever fought, I just remember having an amazing friendship filled with great memories. Alexis was one amazing, beautiful, caring people that I have ever met. We met at very strange times in our lives. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family, and loved ones. I cannot imagine the emptiness you must be feeling. To lose a child, is the most devastating form of loss there is. My husband lost his brother at a young age, and the hurt never goes away, but its the memories he holds close to his heart that helps him, and you will too. My dear old friend, I can only imagine the pain you must be going through, but you had a daughter...and how beautiful is that.
