Mr. B. made American History fun! He was a great guy and an incredible story teller. He also kept the peace at East Jefferson. I'd give more than one chlorophyll George to sit in his class one more time. RIP Mr. Bertaut!

I was one of his students in grammar school when I moved to Metairie in 1951.
He was an impressive teacher and body builder - he sure let the class know who was in charge and there was not goofing around. He set a lot of young people on the right track.

What great memories I have of Mr Al. If you want to fight then he'd tell you let's put on the gloves and if you are here to work out then he be sure to tell you let's keep the talking and play out of it. I miss you all and have you in my prayers

When someone we love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Therefore treasure the spent times with Alvin-draw strength from the love of family and friends-and may God's word and his loyal love comfort you and help you through this difficult time.

Mr. Bertaut was my favorite high school teacher. I loved his classes. He made learning fun! He always had a smile on his face! I remember he used to talk to his class about how happy he was to be married to his most beautiful wife M'Liss. He will be missed by everyone that knew him! May he rest in peace with the rest of his brothers and mother and father.
