Augustine Gerard Cahill

Augustine Gerard "Jerry" Cahill, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, went to his eternal home on Thursday, July 8, 2021. He was 86 years old. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines as a combat photographer from 1952-1955. He was a retired Piping Engineer. He was an avid sportsman and a lover of music/art/ and history. He leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters, Kim Bourque, Kathleen Guidry and husband Jay; three sons, Charles Cahill and wife Pam, Gerard Cahill, Benjamin Cahill and wife Amie; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Cahill, David Cahill; four sisters, Cathy Cahill Tullos, Loretta Cahill Gilreath, Mary Grace Cahill Register and Claire Cahill Bordelon. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents John & Sara Cahill; his beloved wife of 67 years, Alma Rosalie Anderson Cahill; son-in-law, Wilton Bourque; granddaughter, Christine Andrews; four brothers, John Cahill Jr., Ronald Cahill, Kenneth Cahill, Charles Cahill; and sister, Gloria Cahill Morgan. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in French Settlement on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm, conducted by Fr. Jason Palermo.
