Barkef Osigian Obituary

OSIGIAN Mr. Barkef K. Osigian, Jr., 85, a longtime resident of Mandeville, LA peacefully departed this life from his daughter's home in Cave Spring, GA after an extended illness. Mr. Osigian was born in New Orleans, LA the son of the late Barkef K. Osigian, Sr. and Estella Ferrantelli Osigian. He was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Covington, LA and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rome, GA. More than anything, he was a wonderful husband and devoted family man. He leaves behind a legacy of love including his wife of 64 years, Mary Walsh Osigian; his twelve children and their spouses; Catherine Truxillo Whitacre (Kirk); Estelle Smith (Kenneth, Sr. "Ken"); Rose Anna Bunol (Robert, Sr. "Bobby"); Noel Domingo (John Michael, Jr. "Michael"); Charlene Kotter (Don, Sr.); Barkef Osigian, III (Susie); Mary Thompson (Clinton); James Osigian (Colelene); William Osigian (Francesca); Claudia Krause (George, III); Patrick Osigian, Sr. (Melissa); and Margaret "Peggy" Picone (John Louis, III "Clint"); 46 grandchildren and their 14 spouses, 28 great grandchildren and 3 more on the way; as well as, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Mr. Osigian served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He was a 2nd Vice President of Pan American Life Insurance Company and retired after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a hunter and an avid outdoorsman. The family would like to especially thank the caregivers from Heyman Hospice at Floyd Medical Center, Rome, GA for their gentle kindness and support. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life and his eternal inheritance in Our Lord Jesus Christ to be held at North Shore Bible Church, in Covington, LA on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by the Memorial Celebration at 11:00am. He will also be honored in the intentions at the 4:00pm mass at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Covington, LA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org. You may visit us at www.hendersonandson s.com for an online condolence register. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel & Crematory, Rome, GA has charge of the arrangements.
