Bessie Cuccia Obituary

CUCCIA Bessie Patranella Cuccia, a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish before relocating to Pearl River, LA since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the age of 93. She was the cherished wife of the late Frank Cuccia. Loving mother of Laura C. Gilchrist (Norman), Nicholas J. Cuccia (Greer) and the late Frank P. Cuccia. Daughter of the late Lena Church Patranella and Frank Patranella. Sister of Frances Catalena, Mike Patranella and the late Josephine Ruffino, Marie Ruffino, Tony & Joe Patranella. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Lauren Parker, John Finch & Nicole Cuccia; her 11 great grandchildren; her 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched. Relatives, friends, members of the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office, St. Joseph's Guild, St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Pearl River, LA are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, February 3rd from 9:00AM - 12:30PM. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA beginning at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
