Charles Ellis Obituary

Mr. Charles H. Ellis, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the age of 83. Son of the late George, Sr. and Natalie Ellis. Husband of the late Gwendolyn Ellis. Charles leaves to cherish his memory five children, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four brothers and and two sisters. Mr. Ellis served his country in the United States Army for four years. After military service he returned home to New Orleans and was employed at Napa Auto Parts, where he retired after 30 years. A celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Charles H. Ellis, Sr., will be held at Abundant Life Tabernacle Church, 1701 Franklin Ave., New Orleans, LA 70117 on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 10 am, Bishop Tyrone Jefferson, Officiating. Interment will be held at the Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA at a later date. Visitation 9 am in the church. Due to COVID variants, face masks and social distancing strongly encouraged.
