Charles D. Glenn Jr.

Charles D. Glenn, Jr. passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the age of 70. Charles was born in and was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Charles graduated from Walter L. Cohen Senior High School in 1965 and later graduated from Southern University at New Orleans in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies. Charles worked as an insurance agent with Allstate for many years before opening his own agency, Charles D. Glenn Jr. Insurance Agency, Inc. in New Orleans East. Charles had many friends wherever he went and was a lover of all sports. One of his favorite past times was watching football. In his earlier years, Charles loved playing tennis and later in life he never missed watching a tennis match. He also spent many years perfecting his golf game. Charles is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 47 years, Elaine Glenn; nieces Melonie Coleman (Charles Coleman), Deandra Broussard, Sultana Hasan, Antarah H. Hasan, Zinnyah Hasan, LaNitrah Hasan, and Michelle Bocage; nephews Hassan Hasan and Michael Montgomery; Bothers-in-Law Lawrence Adams (Jackie Montgomery) and Khatib Hasan. He was the great-uncle of Shantrice Coleman, Charles Coleman, Jr., Antarah L. Hasan-Spears (Kenneth Spears), Alia Carroll, Michelangelo Carroll, Iman Calvin, Te'Ja Williams, Tahj Williams, and Hassan Hasan, II. Charles was the godfather of Erica Comese. He is preceded in death by his parents, Artornce Rucker Glenn and Charles D. Glenn, Sr.; his sisters Ruby Glenn and Violet Broussard; mother-in-law Hilda Adams; sister-in-law Ella K. Hasan; and brother-in-law Larry Adams. Charles will forever be loved and cherished by this family and friends. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all his caregivers at New Orleans East Hospital, as well as the family and friends who took such good care of him throughout his life's journey.
