Christian Burger Obituary

Christian Jacob Burger, 43, of Golden, CO passed away at his home on Friday, December 30, 2022. He was born November 12, 1979 in New Orleans, to parents Lynda Ogden Burger and Ronald Burger. Christian studied computer science, and attended UNO and LSU on a full scholarship. In 2003, Christian met his wife, Morgan, in New Orleans. They married on December 21, 2006, and have two daughters, Marley and Micah. In 2016, Christian and his family moved to Golden, Colorado to purchase a veterinary practice where he was the office manager and fixer of all things. Christian's greatest accomplishment was his family, whom he loved with all of his heart. He was an amazing father and husband and the center of his family's world. His highest priority was making sure his children's needs were being met, spending countless hours advocating for his hearing impaired daughter to get the accommodations she needed to learn in school. If you ever had the opportunity to meet Christian, you knew he had a huge heart and was so kind. He was a caretaker of those who were vulnerable. He shoveled the snow from his elderly neighbor's driveway. He was that person who stopped to help stranded drivers by changing tires, pulling out stuck cars or buying a car battery for someone who couldn't afford one. He was a friend who could always be depended on. Chris mentored his friends and family, always there to offer guidance and support. He was very close to his nephew, Peyton, whom he loved like a son. Christian was also a brilliant man who loved to learn and could repair anything. He enjoyed making his own apple champagne and loved working on his truck with a passion. Christian is survived by his wife, Dr. Morgan Singletary Burger and their two daughters, Marley and Micah Burger; his parents, Lynda and Ronald Burger; his siblings, Brent Burger (Jiang Ying,) Kristi Burger, Lisa Burger Toler, Bryan Burger (Melissa,) and Dr. Lauren Burger Mayer (Francis); mother in law, Betty Sasser Singletary; nieces and nephews, Evan Toler, his Godson Peyton Burger, Caroline Munson, Brennan Burger, Ellagrace Warren, Cameron Burger, and Victoria Burger. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Verdie Raburn Ogden and Hunter Lusk Ogden, paternal grandparents, Emelda Kerth Trahan and CJ Trahan, and Robert J Burger. Christian leaves behind many lifelong friends. He will be always loved and forever missed. Services will take place Friday, January 20 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Rd., Baton Rouge, LA. The visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The funeral mass will begin at 11:00 am.
