Claude Yvan Begin

Claude Yvan Begin passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of 48 years to the late Beverly C. Begin. Devoted father of Jean-Claude Begin (Kendra) and Richard Begin (Melissa). Proud and loving grandfather of Gavin, Lilly, Mathieu, and Jean-Claude Joseph Begin. He is also survived by three sisters, Pauline Carrier, Therese O'Brien, and Claudette Giguere and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donat Begin and Noella Samson and seven siblings: Sister Jeannine Begin, Raymond Begin, Sr, Leandre Begin, Huguette Gallichand, Monique Roy, Jean-Marc Begin, and Helene Potvin. Claude was born in Levis, Quebec and resided in Metairie, LA for the greater part of his life. He was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church where he was a member of the Men's Club. He was a Master Electrician and member of IBEW 130. Claude was the proud owner of his own company, CB Electrical, for many years. He was an avid golfer and a fan of hockey and baseball. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. in New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations in Claude's memory may be made to St. Clement of Rome Church, 4317 Richland Avenue in Metairie, Louisiana 70002 or to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
