Clyde McGuire was a precious human being with an amazing gift for anything percussion. He was my son’s private instructor in high school band for 3 years. But more than his incredible talent and the lessons he shared- my son was blessed to receive kindness, respect, and encouragement from Clyde that will forever be etched in the fabric of his life. Side note: my father-in-law graduated from Northwest Louisiana as well. I used to love gifting Clyde w different items from the school when we would go back to Nachitoches for a visit. I also loved giving him a hard time during football season when Mississippi State beat LSU in anything. God brought an angel home too soon. RIP Mr. McGuire

Im still in shock & disbelief. The last time we spoke you wanted to get us all together for Christmas time. We talked in the middle of Rouses for about an hour. I met your beautiful wife, and we reminisced on our Jr. High, High School, & College days. I Pray God continue giving your family & friends the strength to get through this difficult time. I did some teaching with Clyde years ago at Wylie High School. He is instilled in my memory as one of the funniest people I have ever met. The students and teachers were having a blast the whole time that week we taught together. I have zero doubt that everyone that crossed his path was blessed with the same friendly personality. He will be missed by so many, but his legacy lives on in the lives that he touched.

Clyde you are loved and missed. Thank you for all your wisdom and wit. Bowman MS is a better place because of you and I am a better director by your guidance. You always were a calming influence to everyone and your phrase to blessed to be stressed is so true. See you on the other side.

What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us. We had great times from 1st grade thru graduation Tootie. Thanks for teaching me how to play snare and quad. Thanks for being there for me throughout my military career. Thank you for being a best friend.

He was a light, and had such passion and dedication to music and his students. My encounters with him both as a student and later as a colleague at PESH were always so genuine, uplifting, constructive and funny that i only had a positive and admirable impression of him, that when he would cross my mind since moving on in life, the memories always make me smile and I feel appreciation for who he is. It broke my heart to hear he is gone from this world, but I cant wait for a reunion in the next.

I will always remember Clyde as a loving child who was dearly loved and admired by teachers, students and his principal. He was the kind of child that left a lasting positive impression on me!!! I did not see him as an adult but looking at his picture, I can see that loving little 4th grade boy in him!!!!

There are no words to describe this amazing and influential individual because those words do not exist. My heart and thought go out to family, friends and anyone who has had the pleasure to spend even just a little amount of time with Clyde. Clyde was my first percussion instructor at my first job as a band director. His insight and talents helped me understand so much and continue to echo throughout my career. I owe his so much and even though we have not had the chance to speak to each other in a long time, he will always hold a special place in my heart. I love you, brother. May you now rest. AEA
