Daniel G. Quirk Sr.

QUIRK Daniel G. Quirk, Sr. , age 81, of Picayune, MS, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in Picayune, MS. A native of Washington, LA, he was a farmer and a retired car dealer. He was a WWII Coast Guard Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater and was Honorably Discharged in 1946. He started in the car business at Bryan Chevrolet in the late 1950's, and was later awarded the Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Slidell, LA. Due to his success, he was able to open Dan Quirk Ford-Lincoln Mercury where he stayed for thirty years. He retired to his farm in Picayune where he lived out his life's passion. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and business associates. Survivors include: two daughters: Pamela Mercaldo of Grand Rapids, MI; Carmen ""Fefe'' Abney of Slidell, LA; two sons: Gregory Quirk of Covington, LA and Daniel G. Quirk, Jr. of Slidell, LA; three sisters: Mary Quirk Mayer of Washington, LA, Rosa Quirk Mack of Zachery, LA and Georgette Quirk Reinecker of Quinter, KS;12 grandchildren and 14 great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
