David Montes de Oca Garcia

David Montes de Oca Garcia, 36, was called to his eternal home on the August 1, 2017. David was born December 2, 1980. He was born and raised in the city, Mexico and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in the aftermath of Katrina. David came to New Orleans to start a better life for him and his family. Anyone who knew David would tell you whole heartedly that he did succeed in his quest. David was a successful chef and opened the well know Chilangos Restaurant. He has many achievements and accolades, but his proudest accomplishment was his family and being a father. David was a genuine and kind man, he touched many lives. He was truly loved by many. Everyone that was involved in David's life shares the pain that overwhelms the Montes de Oca Garcia family, especially his spouse, son, mother, father, brothers, sister and friends. David's departure took us all by surprise; he was an exemplary and noble man. He was an up standing citizen leading by example. He was hard working and above all he had a big heart for the less fortunate and caring to all. Losing David has left us with a hollow spot in hearts and a sadness that will be difficult to recovers from, we will miss him very much, but we know that heaven has gained one more angel. David, the beloved spouse, son, brother and friend too many may you rest in peace at the right hand of God our Father. John 11:25, "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me will live even if he dies," For now we ask Almighty God to grant eternal rest to David next to Jesus our Savior And So It Shall Be... Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, and friends may visit after 9:00 am until service time.
