David Lemaire Obituary

In loving memory of David John Lemaire Junior, affectionately known as "D.J.," who passed away on April 29, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound impact on those who knew him. D.J. was a devoted husband, brother, son, step-father, uncle, and "Crawdaddy," whose warmth, selflessness, love for good food, and Cajun spirit touched the lives of many. With his big smile and infectious laughter, D.J. had an innate ability to brighten any room and make everyone around him laugh. His generous heart knew no bounds as he consistently placed the needs of others above his own. D.J.'s passion for serving others translated into his remarkable career as a healthcare professional. His journey in the healthcare industry encompassed positions as a Respiratory Therapist, Clinical Intake Coordinator, Clinical Liaison, Healthcare Specialist, and Director of Intake Management. He made a significant impact at all of the places he worked including, Nash UNC Health Care, LifeCare Hospitals of North Carolina, and McKesson Provider Technologies, where he consistently went above and beyond delivering exceptional patient care, demonstrating unwavering dedication, and showing a commitment to excellence and compassion. As recognition for D.J.'s unwavering commitment to serving both God and his community, D.J. was honored with the Golden Crusader award from Brother Martin High School. In college, D.J., joined the Kappa Alpha Fraternity to continue his pledge of faith and high achievement. D.J. received a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Tulane University College and a B.S. in Cardiopulmonary Science from Louisiana State University Medical Center. Alongside his academic achievements, he obtained a multitude of prestigious certifications, showcasing his dedication to excellence in the healthcare field. These certifications include Certified Respiratory Therapist, Certified Hyperbaric Technician, Certified Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant II, and Certified Nursing Assistant I. Additionally, D.J. is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), further highlighting his commitment to providing care to those in need. D.J. is survived by a loving family, including his devoted wife Allison Lemaire, his parents, Patty Mire (Tom) and Dave Lemaire (Jan), and his brother, Jacques Lemaire. D.J. also leaves behind his step-son Zachary Bullock (Allison), his grand-son Decker Gaston (3 years old), his niece Taylor Verges (Michael), and his extended family, including step-siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the many, many friends, which he truly considered family. When D.J. was not serving his community, he loved to have a good time. D.J. was a member of Pete Fountain's Half Fast Walking Club and the Krewe of Tucks. Though D.J. may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the cheers of LSU fans, the smell of fresh roast beef po'boys, and the sweetness of Barq's Root Beer. A Celebration of D.J.'s Life and Birthday will be held on Saturday, June 15, at Benedict's Plantation in Mandeville, Louisiana, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In true D.J. fashion, please wear your most festive cocktail casual attire in Mardi Gras and LSU colors as we celebrate his life. Let's honor his vibrant spirit and the joy he brought to everyone around him. I´ve known D J since birth... he was a real gentleman of God & family... he knew how to help, work and be there for those who needed him; but growing up in New Orleans, he knew how to have fun and loved to play jokes on others!! He is missed!! Love and prayers for his whole family...
