David Sprague Obituary

David Sprague, age 58, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024. He was born on August 18, 1965, in Barrow-in-Furness, England, UK, to Christopher J. Sprague and Brenda A. Sprague. David was a deeply spiritual man who embodied God's love through his gentle demeanor, calm character, and graceful strength. His faith and resolve remained unwavering throughout his eight-year battle with cancer. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and was loved and admired by many. The impact of David's life will be felt for years to come. David graduated from the University of New Orleans with a degree in Computer Science in 1997. Following graduation, David began working as an IT Professional for the Orleans Parish School Board School Board where he enjoyed working for 22 years. His dedication, talent and commitment to excellence made him a standout among his peers, although by his humble nature, you would never know it. He enjoyed his work and was proud of the many milestones and accomplishments he and his colleagues achieved. David was a shining example of a man driven by his purpose and faith in God. He was kind, generous and loving as was evidenced by the mission work that he undertook and his work at Kidztown Children's Ministry of Celebration Church. Working with children held a special place in David's heart. David's legacy will live on forever through the many lives he touched and the memories of those who had the opportunity to know him. David will be remembered for his English sense of humor, his uncanny ability to recall the smallest details, and his love for his Mother's Sausage Rolls. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. David was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen P. Sprague; his maternal grandparents, Anne and Fred Allinson; and his paternal grandparents, John and Marjorie Sprague; David is survived by his beloved mother, Brenda A. Sprague, his father, Christopher J. Sprague; his brother Trevor Sprague (Cindy); his beloved niece, Whitney Sprague Womac (Ryan); his beloved great-niece, Claire whom he adored; his beloved nephew, Brandon M. Sprague (Leigh). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001 on Friday, May 24, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with a Service starting at 11:00 am followed by burial. David was s truly gifted man, and a wonderful example to all who were blessed enough to have known him. As a teenager, he gave his heart to the Lord, and dedicated his life to serving God and all of His creation. He was a friend to all, giving comfort to those who were hurting and lonely. No matter how much time passed between meetings, he would speak to people as if he´d seen them the day before. God bless you David, and thank you for your infinite kindness.
