Edward Brown Obituary

BROWN Rev. Edward Brown departed this life to be with his heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at his home in Memphis, TN. He was 96. He was a native of Natchez, MS and resident of New Orleans, LA for 65 years. He served as the Pastor of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church for 43 years and Pastor of Little Antioch Baptist Church for a short period of time. After hurricane Katrina he moved to Memphis, TN with his family. He leaves to cherish his memories four generations a daughter Mrs. Edwina B. Reed of Memphis TN, three grandchildren Sharon Butler of Memphis, TN, Huey P. Reed, Jr. of Nashville, TN, and Raedell O. Reed of San Antonio, TX, nine great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren, his St. Matthew Church family a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, 1826 Conti St., New Orleans, La 70112. Rev L. Hamilton, Officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment Providence Memorial Park Metairie, LA. Arrangements by R. S. Lewis & Sons in Memphis, TN & Richardson Funeral Home in New Orleans, LA.
