My thoughts and prayers are with you, Mrs. Pat, EJ, Ashley, and Stephanie. Your husband/father was always a wonderful person to be around, with a great personality and an air of welcome anywhere he went.
I will always remember him as "the guy with the camera" at our many ROTC events in and out of school and his awesome fireworks displays. He will not be forgotten.

My sincere sympathy to the Deshotel Family.. I am a friend of Maryann and Joey Garic and have fond memories of James and Pat from the Endymion Parades. He always welcomed me as if I was one of the crowd.. so, James, I know you have the cigar, the beer... Happy Carnival James!! God Bless You

I was shocked to get the phone calls from my parents, Rene and MaryAnn Garic, on Monday...My condolences go to Pat, the 3 kids, and the whole Deshotel family...
James will always be remembered as "Mr. Endymion" to me, and I just know he is up in heaven trying to figure out which wires to hook where to continue his legacy of also being known as "Mr. Pyro".....
Mardi Gras and New Year's won't be the same with out James, but he also won't be forgotten because of the many memories that have been made with him....

All of you are in mine and Daves thoughts at this difficult time. We have known each other for 20 years and have so many good memories that we will cherish the rest of our lives. When Dave thinks about Mardi Gras (Endymion) he thinks of James-camping out on the parade route saving our spots. I am just so thankful that we have so many memories. If any of you need anything please call me or Dave because we will do anything we can to help. James had so many friends and he will be greatly missed.
