Edward Regis Obituary

REGIS Edward "Eddie" Benjamin Regis, Jr., a cab driver for White Fleet Cab Co. for over 40 years, passed on Monday, March 23, 2009 at Interim LSU Public Hospital (University Hosp.). Son of the late Edward B. Sr. and Alberta (Leda) Kelly Regis. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Mae Jones. Loving father of Edwald (Carol) and Sidney (Shona) Regis, Emmerson (Tracy) Peden, Elizabeth and Irma Regis, Shirlene (Anthony) Baker, the late Daniel and Eddie Regis Darlene Regis (Rev Patrick) Johnson. Brother of Lillie St. Cyr, Kelly Regis and the late Issac Regis and Judy Khaton. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 68. Relatives and friends, pastors, officers and members of Franklin Ave. B.C., True Vine M.B.C., First Street UMC, all neighboring churches, employees of White Fleet Cab Co., North Atlanta Kidney Specialist, CHOA at Scottish Rite of Atlanta, GA, New Orleans Police Dept., Lowes, U.S. Postal Workers, Rally's, Wendy's, Autocrat Social Aid & Pleasure Club and Hurricane Riders Motorcycle Club are invited to attend the Funeral Services at St. James Methodist Church, 1925 Ursulines St., on Saturday, April 4, 2009 for 9:00 a.m. Rev. Donald C. Jean-jacques, Sr. officiating. Church Visitation Saturday 8:00 a.m. till hour of services. Interment: Providence Memorial Park Cemetery. May God give you strength during the loss of your loved one. My family and I lived on Conti Street. I remember Big Kelly Regis from school and also Judy who was a very nice person. I didn't know Ed closely but the times that I did see him he always was a gentleman.
I will be praying for you as you face the difficult days ahead.
