Edward Rodriguez Obituary

RODRIGUEZ Edward Raymond Rodriguez died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 of respiratory distress and heart failure at Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Covington, Louisiana. He was 88 years of age and was a lifelong resident of Metairie, LA. He was a WWII Veteran in the U.S. Army's 82nd Aiborne Division 406th Infantry and was a member of the American Legion Post 175 on Metairie Road. Loving husband of the late Leona Chauvin Rodriguez for 64 years. Beloved father of Sandra Johnson and Susan Stoltz. Father-in-law of Guy Johnson, Sr. and Melvin Stoltz. Brother of Rose Rodriguez, the late Earl Rodriguez, Sr., Joe Milan, Ann Pendergrast and Edna Banks. Grandfather of Guy Jr., Chris Johnson, Theresa J. Liolios, Nicole Ralston Stevens, Amanda Ralston Byers and Matthew Stoltz. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family, also the American Legion Post 175 on Metairie Road are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. at 43rd St. from 6:00 p.m. until 9;00 p.m. and on Monday, August 10th from 9:00 a.m. untl 11:0 a.m. at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp. Followed by a Mass at St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church, 309 Manson Avenue, at 11:30 a.m. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Information: (504) 835-2341.
