Edwin Barrios Obituary

BARRIOS Edwin Aloysius Barrios passed away at his home in Slidell on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the age of 91. A native of New Orleans and lived in Slidell for 44 years. He served in the Army AirCorps during WWII and retired from La. State Dept. of Transportation. Devoted husband of Lorraine "Sandy" Barrios for 66 years. Loving father of Leah Burke and husband Harold Burke. Grandfather of Kelly Corkern (Jimmy), Sr. Keri Burke, MSC, Kasey Walker (Robert), Donovan Burke (Brigitte). Great grandfather of Brittany, Jimmy "Bo", Brandi, Michael, Robin, Liam, Connor, Jordan and Bailey. Son of the late Peter P. and Florence C. Barrios. Brother of the late Peter "Pete" Barrios, Miguel "Joe" Barrios, Naomi "Dixie" Campbell, Myrtle "Myrt" Namias and Irving "Tookie" Barrios. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Luke the Evangelist, 910 Cross Gates Blvd, Slidell, on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10:30 am. Visitation at the church from 9:30 am until Mass time. Interment immediately following at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS at 1:30 pm. Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA in charge of arrangements.
