Elizabeth "Betty" Bittel

1954 - 2023

Elizabeth "Betty" Foti Bittel was born in March 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a resident of Harahan, Louisiana. Wife of the late Thomas Richard Bittel, Sr. Loving mother of the late Marc Charles Bittel and Thomas Richard Bittel, Jr. Grandmother of Nicholas Leggio. Great-grandmother of Gianna Leggio. Daughter of the late Bernice Phillips Foti and Clarence Dominic Foti. Sister of Elaine Conzonere (Anthony), Diane Tortomase (Joseph) and the late Gerard Foti, Sr. (Stephanie). She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, along with great and great-great nieces and nephews. She attended St. Rita Grammar School and Riverdale High School. She was employed with AT&T Communications for almost 40 years before her retirement. She enjoyed bingo, pokeno, video poker and bunco. But the true loves of her life, along with her two sons, were her grandson Nicholas and her great-granddaughter Gianna. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America where she attending bi-monthly luncheons and did volunteer work. She was a caring loving mother and a wonderful person who would help anyone that needed it. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visitation and Memorial Mass at St. Rita Catholic Church, 7100 Jefferson Highway, Harahan, LA 70123 on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, 5100 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana.
