Eric James

Eric James, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away at the age of 75 on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Eric, who grew up in the ninth ward, graduated from Carver Senior High School. After high school, he joined the navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. After his naval tour of duty, he trained as a machinist and worked in several industries in California before returning to New Orleans, LA. Eric was a long-time employee of Lockheed, Textron, and, most recently, Home Depot. Eric is survived by his 3 children Tiffany, Devinne, and Eric James; his wife, Cheryl Love James; 4 grandchildren, Natrell, Kyron, Madison, and Daisy; 4 sisters, Margaret Gaspard, Bernice Daniels (Charles), Julie James, and Janelle Bazile; and 3 brothers, Barry, Sr., Stonewall, Jr, (Vaughn), and Bobby James. Eric is preceded in death by his parents Stonewall James, Sr. and Bernice Berg James; son Anthony; and brother, Glen James. Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Monday, January 9, 2023,10:00AM, at Professional Funeral Home, 1449 N. Claiborne Avenue, New Orleans, with the Rev. Charles Daniels officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the hour of service. Interment Private.
