Estelle Williams Obituary

Estelle "Stella" Ned Williams was born March 13, 1920 to the union of Ophelia Smith and Alfred Ned (deceased), and entered into eternal rest Monday, December 17th, 2018 at the age of 98. Estelle was preceded in death by her beloved late husband of over 60 years, Eddie Williams Jr. the love of her life. She was also, preceded in death by two sons, Louis Dabon, Milfred James Dabon, and her siblings, Alma Thomas (Freeman), Alfred Ned Jr. (Artemise), Mary Rogers (Charles). Estelle leaves, to cherish her memory, granddaughter, Daryl Dabon Jarvis (John), her great-granddaughter, Angel Dominique Dabon, her great niece, Thomasina Nicholas (William), nieces Jacqueline Ned (Stanford), Artemise Ned (Gary), and nephews, Edgar Ned, Sr. (Shirley), Jeremiah Ned, Sr. (JoAnn), Elias Ned (Betty), her beloved Geraldine McCloud (Joseph), and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews and cousins. "Stella" as she was affectionately known, gave her life to Christ at an early age, and was a devoted member of Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, and 1st Thessalonians Baptist in the Lower 9th Ward. Estelle was the Matriarch, Protector and Defender of her family. She cared for all who needed her, whether it was family, friends, or church members. She was an avid community activist and also a life time member of the NAACP. Relatives and Friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and members of The Rock FGBC, New Israel Baptist Church, Employees of Lafon Nursing Home, American Sugar Refinery, USDA National Finance Center, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are invited to attend a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2019 at The Rock Full Gospel Baptist Church, 3611 St. Ferdinand St., New Orleans, La. 70116, Pastor Frederick L. Henderson officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Internment: Resthaven Memorial Park, 10400 Old Gentilly Rd. New Orleans, La 70127 Arrangement made by D. W. I remember Ms Estelle from back in the early 1980's. She helped so many in the community.
The church I attended; Greater Macedonia Missionary Bapitist Church, 2711 Daneel St.
The late Rev. Alfred Andrus Jr, Pastor was located next door to Ms Estelle's Fineral Home.
My prayers are of strength for her remaining love ones.
Another Christian Soilder and Legend of New Orleans gone on to Eternal Heavenly Home.
