Ethel Morgan Carter

Mother Ethel Morgan Carter, age 95, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. She was a native Wakefield, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Mother Carter was educated in West Feliciana Parish. Beloved wife of the late Sterling Carter, Sr. Loving mother of Diane Estell, Sterling Carter, Jr., Elvin Carter, Carolyn Tuckson, Ethel Honore, Benjamin Carter, Marlena Murray, Gwendolyn Warner, Idella Frazier, Roosevelt Carter, Ellen Carter and the late James Henry and William Carter. Stepmother of Charlene Banks and Randy Lewis. Daughter of the late Jim and Carrie Reed Morgan. Sister of the late Henrietta Vessel, Noah Morgan and William Morgan. Devoted mother in-law of Nan Carter, Bruce Tuckson, Suzann Carter, Rev. George Murray, David Frazier, Pamela Carter, and Roselyn Carter. Also cherishing her memories are 63 grandchildren, 160 great-grandchildren, 50 great-great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Little Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Historic True Vine Baptist Church, Fresh Start Cathedral Baptist Church, St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, True Fellowship Christian Center, Heart 2 Heart Ministry, and neighboring churches; employees of Rayne Early Childhood Program, Jefferson Parish Schools, and Harrah's Casino are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Historic True Vine Baptist Church, 249 Sala Avenue, Westwego, LA on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time.
