Gone but not forgotten my friend.

Thanks. He was one of the few businessmen who I started a business relationship from my teens and it lasted well into my adult years. He's was always quick with a joke and always worked to give you the best deal regardless if he could have made more money otherwise. He's an original who won't be duplicated. My sympathies go out to Williams family and all the extended clan.

My deepest condolences to the Williams family.
I have been in the wholesale tire business for many years. My job is to locate and build relationships with new customers. Intern - growing trust with those customers so that they will purchase tires from me. It was back in the 80s when I met Mr. Gene Williams.
My first call on Gene I knew I had met someone special. Of course as usual he was very busy taking care of all his dedicated customers. He found time on that first call to give me the time I needed to start my relationship with him. I am so thankful that he did. Being the person that he was he became a friend right away not a customer. I made sure to have a new joke for him because he always had one for me . I cherish the times that we had together.
Gene,my friend, I will truly miss you.

My deepest condolences to the entire Williams family.
When I was little kid, Gene taught me how to change tires on and off rims while he and my Parran shot the breeze together. When I started driving he taught how to change my own tire so I'd never be stuck. When I got married in 1992, he put 4 brand new tires on my car as a gift so we could go on our honeymoon. As years have gone by, I usually stopped to have my tires checked and say hi and get a hug.
My heart is broken, my mother always said the good die young. Gene proved this true. He was the best of the best. Our world and Slidell was better for him being in it.
