Felix Figueroa co-founded the Spanish American Business Association (SABA) and founded UNETE – philanthropic organizations that gave back to the Hispanic community both locally and in Central America. He was also an active and dedicated participant in Mardi Gras with the Krewe of Freret, Krewe of Mercury, Carnival in La Ceiba, Honduras, and the Lions Club International. Felix enjoyed traveling worldwide, fishing with family and friends, dancing, social events, and watching any and all sports events – especially football. His children will remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, and driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. I moved from NOLA after Katrina, and just recently moved to Florida. I only learned of Mr. Felix's passing today and I offer my sincerest sympathy to his family. Having lost two parents as a result of Alzheimers, this really hits home. F & F was the first Botanica I was ever introduced to, and the gold standard, in my opinion. It opened up a whole new world for me. Mr. Felix was always kind to me and my son, especially during and after a very nasty divorce; offering not just spiritual guidance, but fatherly wisdom as well. He will truly be
missed, and his name will surely live on as a legacy in the rich cultural history of New Orleans.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and my deepest condolences to Yolanda, the girls. Felix was a very active community leader for decades. His great contribution to the betterment of the Hispanic business community in the Greater New Orleans Area was acknowledged by many as founder of S.A.B.A. (Spanish American Business Association).
Estaremos rezando por el eterno descanso de su alma y que brille para Felix la luz perpetua. Descanse en Paz.
