Frances L. Cain

1960 - 2024

Frances L. Cain of Greenwood, Ms., transitioned peacefully on October 1, 2024, at the age of 64. Frances was born on March 7, 1960, she was preceded in death by her companion of 35 years Renaud Cockrham Sr., her parents Lucille Mays and Otis Cole (both from Greenwood, Ms.), her daughter Keshanna Cain and sisters Patricia and Jennifer Mays. She is survived by her daughters Gwendolyn and Tyrielle Cockrham, and her only son Renaud Cockrham Jr. Her grandchildren Keir Pitts Jr., Byron Brown Jr., and Rhilynn Cockrham. One sister, Dorothy (Rev. Leander) Whitely. A godchild Corey Vernon. Her aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends also survive her. Frances was a member, of First Free Mission Baptist Church, led by Rev. Melvin Collins III. She was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School (Class of 1978). Relatives, family, and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life for Frances L. Cain at First Free Mission Baptist Church, 919 Adams St., New Orleans, La. 70118 on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Dr., Metairie, La. 70003.
