Frank Anselmo Obituary

Frank Eugene Anselmo passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Frank was born on August 11, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Anthony Anselmo and Anna Graffia Anselmo. He graduated from Holy Cross High School and Delgado Community College in New Orleans, and he worked as a draftsman for thirty-two years for Monterey Pipeline, Standard Oil, and Exxon Corporation. Frank was the loving and devoted husband of fifty-eight years of Siseta Fontana Anselmo; the dedicated father of Frank, Vicki, Keith, and Kevin; the doting grandfather of Devin, Zach, Rachel, Danielle, and Sarah; and the father-in-law of Annemarie. He was the brother of Diana Anselmo Persica and the brother-in-law of JoAnn Fontana Kimberlin, Frank J. Fontana, Patricia Bryant Fontana, Wayne M. Persica, Bernard J. Slutsky, and Larry W. Kimberlin. He was the beloved son-in-law of Frank V. Fontana and Victoria Kennedy Fontana. He enjoyed playing sports and cycling and running, and he was a dedicated participant in the Crescent City Classic for more than twenty years. He shared his love of team sports with many boys and girls as a coach of football, basketball, cabbage ball, and volleyball at Versailles Park and Rebel Park in Chalmette. He also enjoyed gardening, reading, drawing, playing chess, and working on cars. He loved his dogs: Shaggy, Dino, Phoebe, and Wallie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Friday, April 9, beginning at 10:00AM. Dear Siseta, Frank, Vicki, Keith, Kevin and family,
The entire Holy Cross Family joins me in expressing our deepest sympathy and prayers at this difficult time. May the arms of God that welcomed your beloved into heaven be the same that hold you in comfort.

We both worked with Frank at Monterey Pipeline Company in New Orleans. Frank was always in a good humor and easy to talk with. Frank and I shared our love of chess in the days of Bobby Fischer. Daily matches in a file room left little time for lunch and likely took some extra time away from actual "work" (as I recall). All those years we shared are remembered fondly. Frank, you left us too soon, but you left with a life well-lived.
