Frank Spencer Obituary

Frank Luke Spencer, Sr. passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the age of 72. Born in Key West, Florida to the late Ada Lucille Kling and the late Everette Lee Spencer, he graduated from St. Augustine High School with a scholarship to Florida State University. During the 60s, Frank lent his musical talents to The Glory Rhodes, singing and playing lead guitar. He proudly served his country in the United States Army between 1968 and 1971, and fought overseas in Vietnam. After his return, he once again found himself onstage, singing and playing lead guitar for The Country Rays. Frank was an owner and teacher at IET, The Institute of Electronic Technology in Kenner. Frank also worked for ETS at Proctor and Gamble Folgers in New Orleans, Louisiana and Kansas City, Missouri, as well as Sundor in Anaheim, California and Plymouth, Indiana. His playful attitude, and ability to make everyone smile with him will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Frank is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Guidry and Kathy Orgeron; one brother, Johnny Spencer; and a daughter, Rebecca Ann Spencer. Frank is survived by his wife and partner of 30 years, Marion Goloforo Guidry; children, Frank Luke Spencer, Jr. and Zina Lynn Guidry; sister, Vicki Lochbaum; two grandchildren, Jade Lynn Guidry and Madelyn Spencer; ten nieces; five nephews; and countless great-nieces and nephews. Oh Frank, how I miss you. You sent me on a wonderful Journey called life after Institute of Electronic Technology. I will never forget you, as you were my mentor, teacher and got me my first big gig in the Silicon Valley. It's been a long great ride since then. I will always miss you my dear friend!
