My uncle "Georgie" embodied never-ending hope. His mother Lilí was like that, too. Call it naïve, but it meant that there was always a fire glowing for the promise of good things ahead. At times it was more an ember than a flame. But it never stopped illuminating a space for believing. In the case of Georgie, my godfather and one of several little brothers to my mom (who also passed away on the feast of Easter Sunday), the light burned for great things. That faith in something grand - even magical - was grounded in historical fact. Surely, he was a dreamer. But he dreamed big and made things happen that leave an impression on vast numbers of souls who spread the legacy of his life's work through oral history, images shared, bonds forged and writings published. Now begins the exercise of tracking the flare - even after death - of a catalyst for human investment in possibility. While even the prophets don't live forever, their ideas will move hearts and minds for eons to come. George's candle flickers on, casting inspiration and lighting the way for creators of art and action, fun and fanfare, cohesion and community for the generations that follow.

God bless your memory George. He was my uncle though younger than me! We always laughed about that. He was a real leader in the West End Community of businesses.
