Gerald Hennings Obituary

HENNINGS Gerald Thomas Hennings passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the age of 89. Born in Chicago, IL, "Jerry" served in the 7th Infantry touring Africa, Sicily, Southern France, Central Europe and ending as the third man in the capture of Berchesgarden. He served over 50 years of spiritual and fraternal accomplishments to the Catholic Knights including National Board of Trustee, Advisor to the investment committee and State President. He was proud of his Boy Scott Troop 32. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 64 years, Marion Reis Hennings; children: Jay Hennings and wife, Dottye Eschezabel Hennings of Baton Rouge, LA, Eric Hennings and wife, Resa Nichols Hennings of Houston, Texas, Marian Dehan and husand, Hani Dehan of Shreveport, LA, and Karl Hennings and wife, Susan Whitcomb Hennings of Aberdin, Scotland; grandchildren: Michael Hennings, Lisa Hennings Slyter, Betsy Hennings Farrar, Niel Hennings, Mathieu Nader, M.D., Ashley Hennings Nader, Cliff Hennings, O.F.M., Kyle Hennings, and Seth Hennings; and 6 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation to Saltillo Mission, Rev. Benny Piovan, Ascension of Our Lord, 799 Fairway Dr., LaPlace, LA 70068-2007.
