Gladys Langford Obituary
Gladys was the elder of two daughters born to Richard Carl and Etta Lee Merritt. Throughout her life Gladys was a member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola. She was a homemaker and a gentle woman with the most amazing heart. Gladys made this world a better place.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Bedford E. Langford; granddaughter, Dabney Lea Langford and brother-in-law, Bill Bryson.
She is survived by her daughter, Christy Lee Langford; son, Richard Langford; grandson, Thaxton Langford; sister, Betty Bryson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 2:00-4:00pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Private burial will be held at Bayview Memorial Park.
Endearing appreciation is extended to family friend, Ann Parker and First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to: Hadji Temple Shriner?s Children's Hospital, 800 W. 9 Mile Rd., Pensacola, FL 32534.

My recent note about Gladys has disappeared so this will be shorter. Golly, I miss her. When she slipped away from us, I was not prepared for her absence in my life. She will always be missed by her family. She spread joy into many lives, including mine.

I was just thinking that, in spite of all the many different things she dealt with in her later years, she always kept her sense of humor that many lose as they age. We had many a fun time at your house over the years. The coffee was always just a few minutes away and dessert to go with it! You loved your home and enjoyed sharing it with friends and family. I miss you Sis.

It's hard to believe Gladys has been gone from us 4 years. We didn't get to visit with each other much in later years but, I really miss her. If anyone wanted to go anywhere, especially to eat, she was ready. She enjoyed having friends and family over for dessert and coffee. There was, always, fun and laughter--good times that will never be forgotten. Thank you for all you did to think of others, especially me. Lovingly, your sis.

Gladys was my sister, a great friend and someone I could talk with about anything.We've shared so many good times over the years, her kids and mine. Our peace is in knowing that she is well, at last. No more pain, no more tears, just perfect joy. I will cherish all of our great memories of our family together.
