Gregory "Greg" Boyd Sr.

Gregory Boyd Sr. ("Greg") passed away on June 6, 2024, at the age of 67. He is survived by 11 children: Andre Sr. (Deanna), Gregory Jr. (Sharell), Renatta, Isiah Sr. (Rainey), and JeByron Boyd, Samika (Brian) Osbourne, Naija and Richard Thomas, Justin Washington, Brandon Veals, and Amber Celestine. Greg is also survived by 26 grandchildren: Andre Jr. and Avery Boyd, who are Andre Sr.'s children; Javon, Jasmine, Jada, Alaisa, Gregory III, Landen, Sydney, and Sa'mon Boyd, Nia Carter, Tydric Taylor, and Germani Milton-all of whom are Gregory Jr.'s children; Troylynn, Trishyne, and Trishell Butler and Brianna Hill, who are Renatta's daughters; Leigh Osbourne, who is Samika's daughter; Isiah Jr., Josiah, and Ian Boyd, who are Isiah Sr.'s sons; Erick Mejia Jr. and Shuraim Bassirou-Seyni, who are Naija's sons; and Richard, Ri'chione, and Onyx Thomas, who are Richard's children. Greg is further survived by 17 siblings: James, Linda, Delphine, Donald, Tyrone (Idell), Vincent (Fredricka), Kim (Antoinette), and Joseph (Tina) Boyd, Dorothy (Tommy) Lewis, Reginald (Janice) Wicker, Ramona Dobbins, Valerie (Audley) Joseph, and Isis, Richard Jr., Ernest, Vernest, and Roger Miller. Greg is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Conversely, his mother, Rosia Boyd; legal father, Lionel Boyd; biological father, Richard Miller; sister, Crystal Miller; brothers, Robert and Jake Boyd and Cedric and Jarvis Miller; nephews, Eric Boyd, and Kendrick Watson; and niece, Ersheka Joseph preceded him in death. Family and friends are invited to attend The Celebration of Life Service on Monday, June 24, 2024, for 10:00 a.m. at Gentilly B.C., 5141 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Malcolm Collins will be officiating. There will be a Jazz Processional, followed by the Interment at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, LA 70460.
