Greg Maglathlin, 63, passed away in his home in Merrimack NH. He was born in Amherst, MA on August 11, 1953 to Leon and Eileen Maglathlin, both still living. Greg is survived by his brother, Peter Maglathlin of Darien, Connecticut, and sister, Leslie Shula of Cooper City, Florida. Greg was married to Juliana Maglathlin (nee Puksta) for 20 years, fathering two daughters, Rebecca Maglathlin and Katie Glowa. Greg was also married to Lorna Maglathlin (nee Maguire) and was a great friend to her three girls Caroline, Catherine and Meghan Maguire. Greg is also survived by his partner, Eun-Ju Cho, of Seoul, South Korea and their beloved rescue pup Leo.
Greg was an MIT graduate, class of ‘75, and former president of his fraternity, Phi Sigma Kappa. He was best known for having equal parts radiant intellect and disarming charisma. He started his career at the former Sanders Associates and went on to found multiple companies, including Codem Systems. Greg was a satellite and radio integration consultant with a global reputation. He supported international space, defense, and security programs with a capability and expertise that will be impossible to replace. Along with these accomplishments, Greg was a lifelong learner and tinkerer, continually expanding his skillset and challenging himself and others around him. News of the departure of Callsign AB1NE will circle the globe and reverberate throughout the universe.
Greg was always fond of the saying by Arthur C. Clarke that, “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” and it informed the name of his consulting firm, PFM Solutions. Now, it describes you Dad. We love you.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on April 29th, 2017 from 6-11pm at the Puritan Conference Center, 245 Hooksett Rd, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to share their favorite memories of Greg over food and drink.

Even though much time has passed, Gregory is still fondly thought of with a warm heart. I had the honor of briefly knowing him through his beloved rescue pup Leo at the boarding facility he went too. Everyone was excited to see both he and Gregory walk through the door. I also had the incredible honor of having Leo come home with me for his last days. I´m sorry to let those who knew ends. Loved Leo that he passed a couple of years ago. I should´ve thought to reach out sooner. My apologies. Leo was a very special dog. He was the best of dogs. I know how much he was loved, and I can say with confidence that he was loved just as much when he came home with me . I am so grateful that you did. I can also say that his last days were filled with joy. We went for many jaunts in the woods; he would run with abandon with two fellow dogs to play with. One of the dogs was a five month old Havanese puppy named cha-cha whom he mentored and taught the ways of dogdom. My heart aches whenever I think of him. He was steadfast and loyal. Leo is greatly loved by all I miss him so much. Gregory was clearly the best of men.

Greg and I were pals during our self-defining eras as students on college-preparatory paths at Longmeadow High School.
We were teammates going for it individually and collectively on the LHS cross-country and track teams. I was saddened to hear his physical distance race ended at 63, but his underlying contagious, motivating spirit can continue in all of us who knew him.
Greg and I also served as acolytes at St. Andrew's church to facilitate morning-prayer and communion services. Imagine two younger characters like Greg in red and white robes on either side of the altar on Sundays.
My deepest condolences and brightest spiritual wishes go out to Greg's family, friends, and colleagues.

I worked with Greg on what I believed was his first project after he joined Sanders out of college. I often take credit for "breaking him in", although we all know that wasn't possible. He was a wonderful friend and a great engineer and he will be missed.

I had the pleasure to meet Greg years ago when I assisted him selling and then buying his home in Merrimack. Lots of stories working along such an interesting and fun man. He actually chased a house cat that tried to escape. Tackled it like a football player! Great guy and I am so sorry for the family.

I want to express much sympathy to Greg's family.
There are so many words I can use to describe Greg. But the one I use the most is "Magic Man." He was brilliant, a problem solver, a great person to work with and a good friend. Greg enjoyed every day to the fullest. We were in the process of making plans to get together this summer and of course it was going to be a party. There will always be something in our lives that reminds us of Greg. (NEVER FORGOTTEN)
Rest in peace BUDDY!

I am the priest who witnessed the marriage of Greg and my cousin, Julie, in Claremont. I always liked Greg, admired his intellect, and considered him always a member of my family. I have celebrated two Masses for the peaceful repose of his soul, which is Catholic custom. May he enjoy an eternal destiny.

Greg was instrumental in getting a couple of new products to market for me in 1982. That lead to the formation of Hollis Controls, my current business that is still operating 30 years later. I always appreciated his help. I know he will be missed. My condolences to Julie and his daughters.

Greg and I spent about three months together sailing the Barents Sea on LST 1196 the USS Harlan Cty back in the spring of 1980 just before he married Julie. Greg was a very good nice guy, very smart and hard working and a good companion on a cruise. Could he tell stories. My condolences to Julie and his daughters.

Words fail me. Greg was a great friend and an extraordinary engineer. He would often bring in some piece of exotic electronic equipment for Show & Tell to our Saturday morning breakfast get-togethers. We'll always save a place at the table for you my friend, even if we have to drag another table in. Greg, the Knights of the Chrome Palace salute you.

My first meeting of you Greg, you had shorts and pony tail. Then during the interview I was told you were the CTO. (never judge a book). You taught me much and stuck me with a nickname: Double D. I will miss repairing your Zenith TV's, your wit and your puzzles. you get the final "MOCTAS". later my friend. 73's for now.

Greg brought out the best in all of us. His personality was irrepressible. His intellect unsurpassed. It was never dull with him being around socially or professionally. He always had his foot on the accelerator, full speed ahead. He is missed.

I worked with Greg at Sanders Associates during the late 70's and early 80's. He was by far one of the smartest and energetic engineers I had the privilege of calling a colleague. Needless to say I was somewhat shocked to learn of his passing. My sincerest condolences to all his family for your loss.

Greg was one of the most important and influential people in my early career at Codem Systems. He was smart and so disarming. You just wanted to be around him. I traveled all over the world working with him and he made me a better problem solver. I was so sad to learn this news. Greg is someone I will never forget and I am so sorry for your loss.

It is rare that someone with whom you only spent parts of your first 11-12 years leaves an impression or impact that survives the years. Greg was a great neighborhood friend, always creative but not in a "see what I can do" context. Lost track of him a long time ago, but that doesn't diminish some warm memories of a decent guy. In Stand By Me, Richard Dreyfus concluded the movie that you never have friends like the ones you had when you were 10-12. Greg fits the mold.
