Dear Jill,
May I join John to send you my deepest sympathy to you and your family : when he left home at 16 for his first visit to the United States to improve his language facilities, I did not know how he would meet with a family forever. Now you look after Claire, his daughter who looks forward to being able to fly to Nola and shares in your affection. Thank you for bringing us so much over the years. With Love from Liliane.

My sincere sympathy to the Family of Henrietta Eller "Mitzi" Berlin. May I share a poem with you and hope it will comfort you during your time of grief. "An angel whispered take my hand come with me, your work here is done. I went away to a place where there were no tears, nor sorrow, only laughter and smiles and there will always be a tomorrow. As I move amongst the clouds, I will look down and smile upon you, while the angels sing a heavenly song for both you and I. I am not alone, all who went before are here, they awaited my return. I know you will grieve and wish I was still here. But, remember, I am here in all the memories you hold dear. Remember how much I love you and know I took your love with me. I do not wish for you to cry, nor feel sad. I cherish every moment, you and I ever had. Soon we will see each other again. God will be with you just as he's with me."

To my Berlin cousins,
I love to think about your mom and dad and my mother and all the years of youth and memories they shared! I so remember Deetz and I having fun thinking of names when Jack and Mitzi were naming their twins!
My mom was delighted to move back to New Orleans and be close by Mitzi and part of all of your lives. Her stories about you and your spouses and children were non-stop and she and Sonny got such a kick sharing so many fun times with all of you.
My heart is breaking thinking of your loss and remembering the feeling of total despair when my mother passed away.
I feel your pain and hope your grief will slowly ease a bit over time as you talk about her and reminisce and reflect on the happy, funny stories of your lives with your beloved mom.
God bless you and know that you are in my prayers as you work through this very difficult time...
