Hilda Giroir Orgeron

Hilda Giroir Orgeron entered eternal life on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the age of 85, to rest in the company of the angels and saints. A native of Marrero, Hilda made Harahan her home for the past eight years. After dedicating more than 40 years to her career at Avondale Shipyards, she retired to enjoy traveling with her husband; her greatest joy, however, came from spending cherished moments with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hilda is the daughter of the late Anita Trosclair Giroir and Joseph Gerald Giroir, and is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clarence Joseph Orgeron, as well as her brothers, Joseph Charles (JC) Molaison and Earl Joseph Molaison. She is survived by her four children, Arthur J. Orgeron, III (Daphne), Rene Orgeron Doucet, Connie Orgeron Bryant (Tully) and Beth A. Orgeron. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday, August 5, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., with a funeral mass following at 10:30 a.m. Both the visitations and mass will take place at Mothe Funeral Home, located at 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA 70058. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna, LA.
