Hugh Davis Obituary

Hugh "Hughy" J. Davis, III age 30, passed away in Houston on Thursday, September 23, 2021.Hughy was born in New Orleans on September 20, 1991, to Angele "Beanie" Giorlando Davis and Hugh J. Davis, Jr. He attended St. Dominic School, Christian Brothers School and Jesuit High School in New Orleans. After Hurricane Katrina, the Davis family relocated to Houston, Texas. Hughy attended Christ School in Arden, North Carolina for one year and graduated from Strake Jesuit, class of 2010. He attended Louisiana State University and University of Houston. Hughy worked at Rice University Fondren Library. Hughy was a gentle kind spirit. It showed through his compassion towards animals and all walks of life, equaled by the love for his family and his long lasting friendships. Hughy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Hugh J. Davis, Sr. and Fitta Parodi Davis of Nassau Bay, Texas. He is survived by his maternal grandparents Dr. A.J. Giorlando and Marie Caserta Giorlando of New Orleans, aunts and uncles: Joanna M. Giorlando, Dr. Paul J. Giorlando (Mary), Joseph A. Giorlando, Dr. Michael F. Giorlando (Judy), Maria G. Pellerin (Curtis), Felice G. Stokes (Denis), Claudia D. Vickers (Kenneth), Jessica D. Smith (Warren), William M. Davis, Owen P. Davis (Shannon). He also leaves behind a host of close cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Strake Jesuit College Preparatory Crusader Fund in honor of Hughy. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.

I am so sorry , but we know he´s in his everlasting home. I am the daughter of Nelly and Norman email lifelong friends of A.J. and Marie. I live in New Orleans and would love to attend a mass for Hugh. I´m not sure how I would find out when it is and where... I was close to Saint Dominic`s.
