Daddy, It's been 16 years since you left us. There's so much I want to talk to you about. I know you are listening and leaving me little signs here and there. You would be so proud of Bailey as she has less than a year left in Veterinary School and she will be getting married less than a year after that. We talk about you all of the time and miss you everyday.
I Love You!!!

Hello daddy. Well 14 years ago today I was 1/2 way around the world working in Kazakhstan when I got a loud knock on my door early in the morning. When I opened the door I was greeted by a security guard who was a local resident from Kazakhstan and who couldn’t speak a word of English. Finally through sign language he had me follow him down the hall to an emergency phone where on the other end of that call my brother Randy informed me that the good Lord had called dad to heaven. Dad we were blessed and lucky to have you as a guide, a mentor, a loved one, and someone we all miss dearly.
Since that day we have lost several more loved ones including mom, Noonoon, y grandson Karsen, and most recently our sibling Randy. And as the time passes by, we are all getting closer to joining you and mom and Randy and Karsen and I pray daily that the good Lord God keeps a spot for us along side y’all.
Love and miss you dad,
Hurless Jr

Hello Dad. I pray that you are beaming up there with mom, looking down on all of us and all of our families, being a proud father, paw paw, and great paw paw.
Although we can not see you, we know you are there for us. You are loved by all of us and I am sure that you know that. Some day we will all meet up with you and mom again, and we can laugh together with you. You left us a legacy down here on earth, and I am proud to call you dad.........
HAPPY FATHERS DAY
Love,
Hurless

I miss you everyday Daddy. I know you are watching over us. I see the little signs you keep leaving for us. The main one is the Penny on the ground. They must be from you because each one is found just after we think or talk about you. Bailey even found one at her Summer Camp in Mentone, Alabama. You must have been watching over her when she was doing her Riflery competition where she got a badge for "Marksman". You must have been so proud of her.

I Love You!!!

Daddy,

Two years ago my heart was torn apart. My heart still hurts for the sound of your voice and silly little antics you use to do. I miss you today as much as the day you left us.

Love you daddy, Marilyn

Through the years I have always felt close to you, feeling as though you were a real brother.
Your last few days here on earth were a "gift" to me. Although I had to head home before your funeral, I treasure the fact that I was there with you in the end. Blackie/Bobby, you are truly missed.

Uncle Bobby,
The memories I have are such fond ones and will remain a treasure to me. One of the most recent one is when I brought my girls to LA and stayed with you and Aunt White. I can still see you helping Rebecca catch the frogs. She still talks about that! And then how you had to coax her into letting them go the next morning just so you could help her catch them again that night.
I remember as a kid sitting outside and watching you “burn away” the caterpillars. And what about your driveway? It was so narrow! So many memories.:) All good ones!
Staying at your house when I was a kid with all of the kids; wow! How did you ever put up with us? All of the cousins!!! Whew!
I miss your making sure that I had gumbo when I arrived (and no okra too). You would make sure that Aunt White cooked it the way I liked it.
Although I am grown and you are no longer there, I know we will meet again.
I love you. Thank you for being who you were.

PawPaw
I miss you so much, I am actually crying while I am typing this. I wish you was here to see Lane how big he is getting and Grant. You would love these boys they would probably never leave your side just like I was.
It hurts so much. Just wish you was still here.

I love you so much & miss you ,
:(

It's been 1 year since my Dad died.

It was a sad day. I can't believe it has been a year already. I miss my Dad so much. I was always so close to my Dad as I am with my Mom. I never went to far away from home, I live next door to my Mom. Although my Dad lived his last few years in a Nursing home, I visited frequently. I watched him go from a strong man back to a childlike stage. I once depended on him for everything and I could always count on him, then those tables turned and I was always there for him. I quit my job when my Dad needed to go to the Nursing Home and my Mom fell and broke her hip. It is hard financially a lot of the time, but I made a promise to my Dad that I will always take care of my Mom.
Yesterday I took my Mom to the store so she could buy a single yellow rose. We then went to the graveyard and brought the flower to my Dad. It was very emotional and hard to watch my Mom cry for her baby, as she so lovingly called him. I was doing pretty good until I asked my Dad to keep watch over Ken. Then I lost it too. Growing up Ken was always so close to my Dad. He adored his Paw Paw and his Paw Paw adored him.
After we left the graveyard me and my Mom went eat at a little local restaurant. On the way out my Mom found a penny on the ground. She scooped the penny up remembering how she would always laugh at my Dad because he would always pick up a penny off the ground.
My oldest sister, Sandra, and my younger brother, Darren, made sure to go visit my Dad too on this special day. This day marks a special journey for us. We have made it through all the firsts. The first Wedding Anniversary, the first Thanksgiving, the first Christmas, the first birthday, the first Father's Day, and now the first year anniversary of his death.
Later my younger brother, Darren, and his family went to my Mom's with Gumbo that his wife had cooked. Sandra and her family also went.
