Isaac Alfonso Suarez

Isaac Alfonso Suarez, beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, unexpectedly passed from this life on Friday, May 5, 2023, in a tragic accident while helping a friend. He was 22 years old. Isaac was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He was an exceptional young man, unmatched in his selflessness and work ethic. He truly loved life. Isaac is remembered for his infectious personality, sense of humor, and the rubber ducks he left everywhere. He left this world the same way he lived in it – caring for others. Isaac was born at 4:53 p.m. on February 13, 2001, at East Jefferson Hospital, Metairie, LA. His parents named him Isaac because it means "laughter," and they knew he would be a happy child. True to his name, Isaac loved making people laugh and spending time with family and his many friends. He brought life to any occasion with his charisma and humor. He also loved acting and was an undercover country music fan. Isaac grew up in Metairie. He attended Lakeview Christian Church with his grandfather. He had a passion for sports and a competitive spirit. While attending grammar school at St. Francis Xavier, Isaac was a member of the basketball, flag football, and track teams. He also played baseball, soccer, and basketball for Kenner Parks and Recreation. Isaac later attended Archbishop Rummel High School, where he was on the Alpha Honor Roll until he graduated in 2019. At Rummel, he made many lifelong friends. Isaac played football for Rummel for one season and then wrestled for three-and-a-half years, first under Coach Jonathan Orillion and then under Coach Rod Cusachs. In his senior year, he took fourth place in the 119-pound weight class at the Louisiana State Wrestling Tournament, finishing out with a record of 33-9 his senior year. After high school graduation, Isaac attended LSU, moving into Acadian Hall on August 17, 2019. At LSU, Isaac continued loving life and sharing his light with everyone he met. He was pursuing a degree in kinesiology with the goal of attending medical school and eventually specializing in plastic surgery. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Rafael Alfonso Suarez, Isaac is deeply missed by his parents, Ana Valeria Vallejos ("The Warden") and Mario Suarez, and his grandparents, Olga Zeledon and Deonne Palacio, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and countless friends. Visitation will be held at Lakeview Christian Center, 5885 Fleur de Lis Drive, New Orleans, on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
